Yank is the solo project by Istanbul born recording artist, drummer, songwriter, singer and improviser Yanki Bicakci. After being part of well known bands of Istanbul’s alternative music scene such as Nekizm, Pitohui and Selim Saraçoğlu, Yank moved to the Netherlands and released his first solo album I/I on November 2016, which he composed and produced himself in Utrecht. He’s been performing in Europe and Turkey with live settings varying from solo to a five piece band and releasing home-recorded singles in a series called 18m2 (soundcloud.com/18m2). His first single Durbak was released on December 2019 via Shalgam Records.
